Healthcare Practice Law

I focus my practice primarily on Healthcare Practice Law. I represent Physicians, Dentists and other healthcare professionals on variety of issues they face in their practices on a regular basis. These areas include the following;

Healthcare Regulatory Issues such as Stark, Anti-Kickback and HIPAA,
Employment Law such as drafting and review of professional employment contracts, staff employment issues, and employee handbooks, policies and procedures;

Business Transactions such as contracts and business entity formation;

Medical Malpractice Consulting acting as private Counsel and Consultant to healthcare professionals faced with Malpractice claims;

Commercial Real Estate such as Landlord/Tenant, Purchase and Construction of facilities;

Collections of Accounts Receivable.

Philip M. Bluestein started working as a lawyer for health care professionals when his wife, a surgeon, was still in residency. When she was ready to open her own practice Mr. Bluestein focused his own legal skills on representing physicians and other healthcare professionals in the variety of issues faced in their professions and practices. He continues to help run his wife's practice successfully today. Mr. Bluestein is familiar with the everyday issues of health care practice management. He understands the financial pressures doctors face, and knows how grueling a doctor’s work can be. He is also well aware it is not just another business. He has focused his practice for years on health care professionals and practices, providing legal assistance for their ongoing success. His representation in these matters is unmatched because he knows the dual angles both of operating a medical business and of health care law.

Mr. Bluestein also understands the devastating effect frivolous or exaggerated malpractice claims can have on doctors and their practices. Mr. Bluestein represents healthcare professionals as independent, private counsel. While he will not interfere with the insurance company attorney's defense of the case, he will assist the doctor in understanding the process. He will also assist the doctor by seeing that their concerns are addressed as well as helping them get their practices through this difficult time.
